During the 48th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals, Nov. 8-11, the NHRA Museum is a hotbed of drag racing and hot rodding excitement. Guests will receive the royal treatment with a free full-access pass to the Museum with new exhibits and cars to admire and loads of drag racing celebrity sightings. During race week, the Museum is open late, offers exclusive gift shop deals, and unique events such as the Wednesday’s Prolong Twilight Cruise, Friday’s Auto Club Q&A and Saturday’s Racing Collectible Show. A free tram is provided for race fans from the track’s main gate, Gate J, to the Museum.
November 7: Prolong Twilight Cruise, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. FREE!
On Wednesday afternoon the NHRA Museum kicks off the NHRA Finals with a Southern California tradition, the Prolong Twilight Cruise. The Cruise features music, food and beverage vendors, giveaways, and cars galore. Stroll through the Museum parking lot filled with hundreds of beautiful hot rods and classic cars. Fans can also cruise through the Museum exhibits at no extra cost.
November 8: Museum is open to all, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free tram service from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check out the newest exhibits and race cars including Mooneyes and Banks Power exhibit.
November 9: Auto Club Q&A “Night of Champions” with NHRA drivers, free and open to the public, 6 p.m. Museum is open until 10 p.m.
On Friday night when the day’s track action wraps up, race fans and some of NHRA’s professional drivers head over to the Museum for the bi-annual Auto Club Night of Champions Question & Answer session. This time, Hector Arana Jr., Ron Capps, Erica Enders, Robert Hight, and Morgan Lucas will take center stage alongside NHRA Announcer Bob Frey who will serve as the panel moderator. Following the energetic discussion, drivers will be available for autographs and photos so bring your camera and Sharpie’s. Fans will want to arrive early to grab a seat. Discussion starts at 6 p.m. Free admission includes Museum entrance and tram service.
November 10: California Drag Racing Collectible Show
Get your holiday gift shopping done early at the Museum! On Saturday, the Museum will host a Racing Collectible Show featuring one-of-a-kind photographs, hats, pins, apparel, diecast and tons more from drag racing’s yesteryear. Admission is just $3 per person, noon to 10 p.m.
November 11: Sunday is your last opportunity to check out the Museum for free. Learn about NHRA’s early beginnings, Founder Wally Parks and get inside John Force’s Funny Car Simulator provided by SEMA. The Museum is open until 6 p.m. Free tram is also available until 6 p.m.
