Night of Champions, Racing Collectible Show, Prolong® Twilight Cruise, SCTA Exhibit Opening In Just One Week
POMONA, Calif. – (Oct. 23, 2007) – A racing collectible show, an exhibit opening, a discussion with current NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series drivers and a Twilight Cruise highlight just one week of activities at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California.
Fri., Nov. 2, 6 - 9:00 pm. Action moves to the Museum itself for the semi-annual Night of Champions. This free event allows racing fans who are visiting the Pomona area for the POWERade Drag Racing Series finale – the Auto Club Finals – to spend time at the Museum and meet current and former drag racing stars. Friday's racers include Nitro Funny Car drivers Tony Pedregon and "Fast" Jack Beckman, Top Fuel driver Rod Fuller and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Peggy Llewellyn. Drag racing photo journalists Bob McClurg and Lou Hart will also be on hand signing their books. FREE tram runs between the race track and the Museum.
Sat., Nov. 3, Noon – 10:00 pm. Racing Collectible Show. Museum admission is free, as are children under 12, but entry for adults to the collectible show is $4. FREE tram runs between the race track and the Museum.

California Timing Association (SCTA) exhibit, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California, will be honored with a retrospective exhibit that opens during the monthly Prolong® Twilight Cruise Night at the Museum. Admission to the Museum is free during the Cruise, which runs from 4-8 p.m. Hundreds of street rods, muscle cars and hot rods fill the Museum’s parking lot for this event.
Sat., Nov. 17, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Legends of Speed will host a 30th Anniversary “Last Race” reunion for Irwindale Raceway. The $15 fee includes Museum entry, lunch and soft drinks. The proceeds will benefit Linda Vaughn’s Angels Charity Program.
Note: The "Once Upon A Wheel" dinner with Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen has been postponed until Feb. 7 due to the Southern California fire situation.
